On October 20th, the new generation super large air separation compressor jointly developed by Shenyang Drum Group and Hangzhou Automobile Group passed the expert review organized by the China General Machinery Industry Association in the user unit, marking a breakthrough in this domestically produced high-end equipment.
At the review meeting, an expert group organized by the China General Machinery Industry Association conducted a mid-term industrial operation review of two new generation ultra large air separation compressors for the third phase coal to olefin project of Ningxia Baofeng Energy Group.
The expert group believes that since the two compressor units were put into industrial operation in February 2023, they have been running smoothly for over 5000 hours. Their various technical indicators meet the requirements of the contract and relevant standards, reaching the advanced level of similar international products. The unit efficiency and vibration value indicators are superior to the level of imported products, which is another important breakthrough in the localization of major equipment in China. Its technology has reached the conditions for promotion and application in large-scale refining and coal chemical industries.

The new generation of ultra large air separation compressor units adopts an axial flow+centrifugal coaxial structure, upgraded from the first generation of 8-stage axial flow+2-stage centrifugal structure to a 6-stage axial flow+1-stage centrifugal structure. Compared with the first generation unit, the new unit has reduced size, weight, and manufacturing cycles, while improving processing efficiency, producing 105000 cubic meters of oxygen per hour.

In August 2015, the first 100000 level air separation compressor developed by Shenyang Drum Group in China passed the acceptance inspection, marking China becoming the second country in the world to be able to design and manufacture compressors for ultra large air separation units. Shenyang Drum Group became the third enterprise in the world to be able to produce such products after Siemens and Mann Turbines in Germany.
