Recently, China Aerospace Science and Technology Group Sixth Academy Aerospace Hydrogen Technology Co., Ltd. successfully launched the domestically developed "5 tons/day hydrogen liquefaction system cold box" in Beijing. This product is the first continuous conversion heat exchanger large-scale hydrogen liquefaction system core equipment, marking a major technological breakthrough in the efficient storage and transportation of liquid hydrogen in China. It is on par with international advanced levels in intelligence, unit energy consumption, and other aspects.

This time, the "5 ton/day hydrogen liquefaction system cold box" has broken through multiple key technologies in the production field of five major liquid hydrogen equipment, including "liquid nitrogen pre cooling hydrogen Claude cycle refrigeration liquefaction process", "large deep and low temperature horizontal cold box integration", "large bearing capacity high reliability hydrogen turbine expander", "continuous and efficient normal hydrogen conversion heat exchanger", and "advanced intelligent control system that integrates fault diagnosis, automatic start stop, and adaptive control of variable working conditions", forming more than 20 independent intellectual property rights. It has achieved independent design and integration of core components including hydrogen turbine expander, control system, catalyst, continuous heat exchanger, etc., which have the characteristics of high heat exchange efficiency, large production capacity, safety and reliability.

The domestically produced 5 ton/day hydrogen liquefaction system cold box is expected to be put into operation in 2024. After being put into operation, it can elevate the production capacity of China's hydrogen liquefaction equipment to a new level, significantly reduce hydrogen storage and transportation costs, ensure the construction of the "source network load storage" new energy system, provide important technical and equipment foundation for promoting the transformation and upgrading of the national energy structure, and contribute to the development of China's hydrogen energy industry.

President Wang Wanjun of the Sixth Academy of Aerospace Science and Technology fully affirmed the achievements made by Hydrogen Energy Company in solving the production and manufacturing of large-scale hydrogen liquefaction equipment, achieving localization and industrialization of equipment in the past two years. The research and development team adheres to the innovative concept of rapid iteration and ultimate product improvement in research and development, focusing on enhancing the research and development capabilities of "multiple iterations in the digital world and one success in the physical world". They have solved the problems of low-temperature and high-speed rotating thermodynamics and structural mechanics, continuous and efficient normal secondary hydrogen conversion technology, deep low-temperature and high vacuum precision measurement and transmission technology Significant progress and breakthroughs have been made in multi-stage heat transfer flow matching and thermal management process optimization, as well as low flash evaporation and efficient reception, transportation, and storage technology for liquid hydrogen.
