The standard gas cylinder specifications are usually 2 liters, 4 liters, 8 liters, and 40 liters high-pressure seamless gas cylinders; There are three types of materials: steel, aluminum alloy, and internally coated carbon steel; For standard mixtures of corrosive and reactive gas components, such as nitrogen dioxide, chlorine, ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, etc., stainless steel valves are used as cylinder valves for standard gases and mixtures

Another imported gas cylinder is designed for the preparation of high activity and low concentration component standard gases such as carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, nitric oxide, nitrogen dioxide, chlorine, ammonia, and phosphine. The inner wall of imported gas cylinders has undergone special process treatment, which is smooth and dense, as bright as a mirror, reducing adsorption, and making the stability period of standard gases much longer than that of standard gases prepared using domestically produced coated cylinders. It is suitable for imported instruments and high demand applications. The specifications of imported gas cylinders include disposable imported low-pressure aluminum cylinders with a volume of 1.7L and a gas filling capacity of 58L (3.5MPa), as well as 4L high-pressure aluminum cylinders that can be reused.

Selection of Standard Gas Containers

Standard gas containers should be made of materials that are corrosion-resistant, pressure resistant, have less adsorption, do not rust, have stable chemical properties, and have high mechanical strength. Aluminum alloy cylinders are commonly used as high-pressure containers, while carbon steel cylinders are gradually phased out due to their unsmooth inner walls and large adsorption.

The impact of pre-treatment on steel cylinders

Before using standard gas cylinders, the surface should be cleaned and painted. Then, the cylinder should be heated to around 100 ℃ and vacuum treated for about 4 hours. After the steel cylinder is processed, it is necessary to analyze its impurity content such as H2O and O2, and only after passing the analysis can it be used

To ensure the stability of the standard gas, it is necessary to consider the influence of the cylinder material on the gas mixture, and it should not cause adsorption or oxidation of the gas. The quantity value must be stable and reliable within the validity period, and the validity period of the standard gas is generally one year. Most constant standard gases can be filled in steel cylinders, but trace amounts of CO, CO2, NO, SO2 and other trace standard gases need to be filled in aluminum alloy cylinders. For standard gases containing corrosive components such as sulfur dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, nitric oxide, nitrogen dioxide, chlorine, ammonia, and phosphine with a content below 10ppm, they need to be filled in inner coated steel cylinders with an expiration date of 3-6 months. Aluminum alloy bottles should also be used for standard gases containing both carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide, as well as standard gases containing halogenated hydrocarbons such as HF, HCl, and CHCl3.
